On 24 November the sculptural group “Brother Gabriel on the way out” was inaugurated in Ambato (Ecuador) at the “Sagrada Familia” Educational Unit in Ambato. It was the closing of the 200th anniversary of the departure of Brother Gabriel and the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Holy Family Educational Unit of Ambato.
The figure of our Founder is becoming more and more popular in our centre and in our surroundings and, since 2016, we have been celebrating him in a special way. The whole Unit, students, parents, grandparents, relatives, teachers… “We walk with Brother Gabriel”.
On 2 and 3 November, the meeting of Nazarene Fraternities of Argentina took place in the Villa Sagrada Familia in Cordoba. More than 60 Nazarenes and 8 Brothers from all the works of the sector participated and five of them renewed their commitments.
On 20 October we officially closed the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of Brother Gabriel’s mission. About 50 people, Brothers and lay people, made the same pilgrimage as Gabriel: from Belleydoux to Les Bouchoux and Saint-Claude.
On the 12th and 13th the Fraternities of Santa Maria (Argentina) held a retreat. They were joined by the animation team from Argentina and Brothers Victorino, Juan Carlos and Mamerto. It was an opportunity to live the faith together, following the example of Br. Gabriel.
On 11 and 12 October, the first meeting of the “Formation of formators” took place in Sigüenza: 13 lay people and Brothers with the objective of “Accompanying a group of people from the Sa-Fa Family in a process of formation”..
From 6 to 8 September the annual retreat of the Nazarene Fraternities of Uruguay was held at the Good Shepherd Retreat House in Florida with the participation of some 40 people.
This rich and significant history began on 13 December 1963, when Brothers Guido Lumini, Júlio Folladosa and Manuel Alves, who came from Uruguay, formed the first community on Brazilian soil.
This year the ‘Sagrada Familia’ School and Lyceum wanted to involve the population in the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of Brother Gabriel’s mission with an allusive poster and the flags of the countries where the Congregation is present
