Easter for Families – Valladolid

For me, Easter at Sa-Fa Valladolid is an opportunity to pause, share and experience Holy Week in a more profound way. I’ve been going there for a couple of years now and I always find a welcoming space to spend these days in community. Families and people from different Sa-Fa circles in Spain (communities, pastoral groups, teachers or fraternities) come together with the shared desire to celebrate Easter in the spirit of the family of Nazareth: creating a very warm atmosphere where we can welcome, share and embrace one another. Sharing this with the children, our own children, with the older Brothers of the Holy Family and, at times, with the young people from the pastoral ministry, means that the celebrations, whilst intense, also become very heart-warming. The catechesis in a parish in Valladolid, the moments of prayer and the opportunities for free sharing help to create a time of silence and reflection. This year I experienced Holy Saturday in a special way as a day to trust and remain steadfast, even amidst doubts, like Mary. From this experience I take away peace, a peace that comes from pausing, listening and feeling that we walk together. Thanks to those who prepare every detail and to the Brothers of the Holy Family for opening their home and reminding us that, in this Sa-Fa Family, there is always a place for everyone.
