Students participating in the ‘Adolescer SAFA’ social group, run by the Pastoral Care Department at Gabriel Taborin School in Marau, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), carry out a series of activities aimed at fostering the Taborin Charism within the school and beyond its walls.
Volunteering initiatives, as well as moments of prayer and reflection, aim to bring Taborin’s legacy to others. In this vein, one of the activities organised in August took place at a care home for the elderly. There, the teenagers had the opportunity to interact, play, chat and, above all, listen to those who know more, who have lived longer and, therefore, have many experiences to share.
A family-style education contributes greatly to shaping children, young people and adults who are sensitive to the reality around them, making them increasingly humane. In this way, too, we believe we are carrying forward Taborin’s charism.
