From 16 to 18 October, Sigüenza hosted the 3rd Sa-Fa Family Gathering, which brought together 60 members of our charismatic family for a few days of fellowship, prayer, reflection and celebration. It was another opportunity to strengthen the bonds that unite us and to continue growing together.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the family atmosphere, which was evident throughout the various shared moments. Although some Brothers were missed, the presence of the Brothers was notable, particularly that of the Brothers from the Madrid community. We were also joined by teachers, members of communities, and a good number of members from fraternities. The time spent together allowed us to strengthen relationships, share experiences and renew our sense of belonging to the Sa-Fa Family.
Among the activities, the time set aside for reflection and group discussion on Saint Joseph, based on the document ‘Arise, take the child and his mother’, was particularly significant. This session helped us to delve deeper into the figure of Saint Joseph and his attitude of listening, availability and trust – values that continue to inspire the way we live and accompany others.
There was also scope for creativity and daily commitment, with a workshop on making a ‘good deeds counter’ – a simple and practical way of reminding ourselves of the importance of doing good through the small gestures of everyday life. The festive atmosphere reached its peak after dinner on Saturday, in a relaxed and joyful setting that fostered connection and closeness amongst everyone.
Prayer also played an important role during these days. The moments were carefully prepared, with morning prayer and a Taizé-style prayer that invited silence and inner reflection. The gathering concluded on Sunday with the celebration of the Eucharist, during which some members of the Nazarene Fraternities expressed their commitments, giving special meaning to the final celebration.
The Third Sa-Fa Family Gathering has, in short, been an experience to renew the joy of belonging to the same family, to share the charism we have received, and to strengthen the bonds between Brothers and laypeople. It has been a time to continue walking together, inspired by the spirit of Nazareth, and to help our family grow through fraternity, faith and shared commitment.
