Blessing of the new Ghana School

Sainte Famille School Complex (SaFaSCo) of Tamale is the new school built by the Brothers of the Holy Family in Tamale, Ghana. SaFaSCo opened its doors to welcome its first students on October 2, 2023. But the official opening and blessing took place on December 8 on the feast day of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception in order to entrust the whole Institution, its students, staff and administration under her motherly protection of Mary.  The Eucharistic celebration was presided by Most Reverend Philip Nameh, Archbishop of Tamale, assisted by several priests. Several religious, laity, parents of students joined the school for the celebration. A delegation of Brothers from Burkina headed by the Provincial Superior, Reverend Brother Julien ZOUNGRANA attended the ceremony.

The celebration lasted about 2 hours. Before the closing prayer, the Archbishop proceeded to the blessing of the whole school. After the blessing of the school, the students performed some traditional dance to the pleasure of the audience and guest. After the traditional dance performed by the students, we proceeded to the planting of 10 trees after what people had the opportunity to have something to eat. The opening ceremony ended with a football much opposing our students to the nearby Islamic school. It was a very nice exercise and we hope that it will also lead to getting more students for our school.

The school administration, teachers, staff and students are grateful for this educational facility that will contribute to the intellectual and religious education of the youth in Ghana. They pray that the school acquires more facilities such as boarding facilities for both Boys and girls as well as a school bus that will alleviate the suffering  and facilitate the accessibility of the school to those students coming from far.
