With the motto ‘Kami adalah kawan sekerja Allah’ 1 Cor 3, 9 (‘We are co-workers in the work of God’) the first religious profession of twenty-four novices was celebrated on the evening of 13 July. Stefanus Buyung O.Carm, Vicar General of the diocese of Maumere, presided at the Eucharist, with eight priests concelebrating. Andrés Galindo, as delegate of the Vice-Provincial for this occasion, received the vows. A group of children from the municipality of Nitakloang opened the entrance procession with their dances, in which, among others, the novices, accompanied by their parents, took part. The choir was made up of a group of faithful from the Rotat parish station.
At the end of the mass, the usual greetings were given by the main celebrant, the master of novices, a representative of the families and one of the newly professed Brothers. The celebration continued outside with dinner and a programme of musical performances by some of the formandi and several groups of catechetical children. The celebration ended as usual with a lively session of traditional dances.
