“Las Colegiadas” are a sign of our community, they give meaning to, gather and revitalise our educational project. The first Collegiate was held on 26th September 1970: St Juan’s was dressed for the occasion. Today, 54 years later, it is lived with the same joy that Brother Héctor da Rosa and the Physical Education teacher Armando Fernández dreamt of. Over the years this day of celebration has been extended to a weekend and to three days, during which different recreational, artistic, sporting and ingenious activities take place. The whole educational community, pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff and families take part. It is a real family celebration. It is thought, worked and enjoyed in teams that prepare for 15 days what they will experience that weekend. Each collegiate is given a different motif around which the teams put together their proposals, stands, costumes, flags, songs. The 2024 collegiate was called “Legends. Heroes for a village of PEACE”. To live a collegiate is to live the magic of the San Juan community, the collegiate we do together as a family: Sa-Fa Family.
