The Nazarene Fraternity of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Holy Family Brothers, launched a charity initiative (gift-giving to help the needy) on the occasion of Holy Week. This scheme was extended to the students of Gabriel Taborin College, who responded positively.
Some goods and cash were donated and it was decided to give them to the more than 230 female prisoners in Maa Davao Prison. The goods donated by the students consisted of rice, canned goods and toiletries. The members of the Fraternity and the Brothers’ Community also contributed.
Dieudonné Sawadogo together with Mrs. Arabella Medida, Cherry Mae Manual and Glenn Lagare handed over the donation to the warden of the city prison. Due to strict protocol at the health facility, the group was unable to personally deliver the food items to the inmates. However, the administration staff (as seen in the photo), packed the items and distributed them to the inmates individually.
The staff of the centre and the beneficiaries were grateful for the help given. Because, not all inmates have a family member to visit them and provide them with suppliers, especially during this pandemic
