On 15 August 2026, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the St Joseph the Worker Vice-Province (Philippines, Indonesia, East Timor) celebrated the Perpetual Profession of seven Indonesian brothers in the Institute of the Brothers of the Holy Family.
After more than a month of intensive preparation, which included the Spiritual Exercises, Brothers Simon Paskalis Kun, Kristoforus Tani Nule, Batista Suli Ellu, Vinsensius Naimnule, Alfridon Nahak Bria, Yulius Kono and Marianus Garfan made their perpetual profession on the afternoon of Saturday 15 August, in the chapel of the Kupang Formation Community.
The ceremony began with the entrance procession, led by a small group of dancers, followed by the Brothers who were to make their profession, accompanied by their families. Bringing up the rear were the Vice-Provincial and the priests, with Father Dodi Sasi, cmf, as the principal celebrant of the Eucharist.
In accordance with the Congregation’s Rite of Profession, the seven Brothers pronounced their definitive ‘yes’ to the Lord, committing themselves for ever as Brothers of the Holy Family. The Vice-Provincial Brother received the vows on behalf of the Superior General. After Communion, the Brothers took part in a joint act of consecration to the Holy Family: kneeling and holding a candle, they recited the liturgical prayer dedicated to the Holy Family.
Following the final photographs, everyone was invited to share a fraternal dinner. The celebration continued with various performances, dances and music, which lasted until almost eleven o’clock at night.
We give thanks to God for the vocation of these seven Brothers and pray for their fidelity to the call they have received. We also thank the families for their generous sacrifice in allowing their sons to consecrate their lives to the service of the Church in Indonesia.
The Vice-Province has reason to celebrate, as after three years it has once again been able to mark this important occasion of perpetual vows. The Vice-Province currently has a total of sixteen Indonesian Brothers who have taken perpetual vows.
