On the 3rd November, in the Community of Rome, the young Angolan Diogo Massango made his First Religious Profession. He was accompanied by the Brothers of the Community, some coming from other communities in Italy and several members of the Nazarene Fraternity.
The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Rinaldo Guarisco, Superior General of the Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception, who run our Regina Pacis Parish. Bro. Teodoro, the novice master, made the call to Diogo. He answered: “Here I am”. The rite of Profession was completed with the profession of vows which were received by the Superior General.
The theme of the celebration was “Blessed are those who dwell in your house, O Lord” (Ps 84). Various songs in Portuguese (some of them composed by Diogo himself), Italian and Spanish gave the ceremony an appropriate musical setting. The Brother Davide Delbarba assisted on the harmonium.
The celebration continued with a lively community dinner to celebrate, also at table, the religious profession of the first Angolan Brother.
Diogo is the first Brother from Angola. He did his aspirancy, postulancy and novitiate in Bucoli, Quito and Rome, according to the needs of formation. Through him, several candidates for Brotherhood have come to our house in Huambo. Congratulations, Brother!
