On Tuesday, August 4, Brother Álvaro Contreras made his perpetual profession in Bucaramanga. It coincided with the feast of the Holy Priest of Ars, as at the first profession six years earlier.
The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Carlos Julio, parish priest of the parish of Saint Vincent de Paul, where the Brother was rendering his catechetical services. The homily was given by Fr. Manolo Jiménez, a person very close to the Brothers from the moment they arrived in Colombia.
Circumstances prevented the presence of guests who were reduced to the most direct relatives and the strictest friends.
All the members of the house were involved in the preparation. The ceremony, although long, was very moving and could be followed by Facebook. The meal that followed was also to the liking of the scant twenty guests.
