During the Founder’s month various activities were carried out, some of them through Facebook. Each day a fact from Bro. Gabriel’s life was posted along with a quote. At the end of the day, questions were asked based on the picture of the day. The students participated actively. On the 22nd of November, the faculty and staff of the school participated in a coloured sand artwork on the theme of 20 years of existence in the Philippines.
On the 24th, Brothers, faculty, staff, selected students with their parents/guardians, and guests participated in the celebration of the 157th anniversary of the death of Venerable Br. Gabriel Taborin and the 20th anniversary of the founding of GTCD.
We started the last day of the novena in the chapel. Afterwards, we all gathered around his statue. The event began with an offering of flowers by departments, the reading of a short story about his life, the burning of individual petitions and, finally, the prayer asking for a grace through his intercession. Afterwards, Holy Mass was celebrated in the Gymnasium as a thanksgiving for the 20 years of life of the Gabriel Taborin School. This was followed by an institutional act: short video greetings from significant persons who helped in the foundation of the College, namely Archbishop Emeritus Fernando R. Capalla, President of the Board of Trustees, Br. Davide del Barba, former President of the College, and finally Br. Francisco Javier Hernando, Superior General.
This was followed by the simultaneous activity of the students for the Quiz Bee and poster making. While this was going on, the participants in the poster competition were able to finish their work. At the end of the morning we had a community lunch prepared by the catering section of the school. In the afternoon, the programme resumed to announce the winners of all the events and to present a souvenir to the distinguished guests. The day ended with the 150th Anniversary Hymn.
