In the small Christian community of La Longa, in the municipality of Poirino (Turin), on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December, the traditional living Crib was once again represented. All the people of the community lent themselves to build the huts and animate with the customs of the time. Thus a great village of Bethlehem was built and at the end of it was the portal of the Nativity with the Holy Family, represented by a royal family with their son of a few months. Nearby was the hut of an adult shepherd with young shepherds who narrated the birth of the Lord and ended with a moment of prayer.
Each one of the visitors received a souvenir to take home a child Jesus giving the blessing glued to a log of wood. On Sunday afternoon the bishop of Turin, Monsignor Cesare Nosiglia, spent some time visiting the Bethlehem, talking to the people and exhorting them to continue with the experience of the birth of the Saviour.
The Brothers of the Communities of Marocchi, Cambiano and Turin also passed through the Crib. A special thanks to Br. Roberto Fontana who motivated, inspired and worked on the preparation and dismantling of the stands.
