Nazarene Fraternity of Lasang
NAZARENE FRATERNITY INTERNATIONAL is a community composed of lay people here in Lasang, Davao City, Philippines whose spirituality is based on the life of the Family of Nazareth. It was formed last August 28, 2011 with initially thirteen members under the guidance of Brother Davide Del Barba.
Our group gathers twice a month for prayer, gospel reflection, sharing and planning for the member’s personal formation, and for communitarian and ecclesial services.
Since its existence, the group had done simple but meaningful activities for the community such as visiting the wake of those who died to offer prayers, donating snacks and school supplies to the participants of “Flores de Mayo” last May 2012 and helping the victims of calamities particularly the victims of fire in Sasa, Davao City last August 2013.
Part of the time of the meeting is dedicated to deepen the Nazarene spirituality and the meditation on the Word of God.
Recently, to strengthen the bonds among the members of the group, we drew up a Project of Life and elected the responsible of the group which counts now nine members. The project includes the following activities: daily prayer every six-o’clock in the evening, monthly thanksgiving mass, annual gathering every last Sunday of December to celebrate Family Day; continue to help those who are in need; and to live a Christian life with Jesus, Mary and Joseph as a model and inspiration.
All the members are part of the Gabriel Taborin College of Davao.
