On 22 November, the ‘Uruguay Nazarene Fraternities Gathering’ was held at the Piedras Blancas retreat house in Montevideo. Thirty-three members from the country’s eight fraternities participated. Brothers Ernesto, Edgardo, Ricardo, and Alejandro accompanied us.
This year, the work focused on small group work among fraternities, highlighting the aspects of the Nazarene Fraternities that have been most valued in recent years and the aspects that need improvement here in Uruguay and in the Province.
All the reflections of the participants were shared in the Celebration of the Word, offering God the commitment to continue building fraternity on a daily basis. This was a highlight of the meeting, where the preparations of each fraternity and the Nazarene reflections of the participants converged, based on the Gospel where Jesus told us: ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God’ (Mt 5:9).
Finally, before the final song, souvenirs of the meeting were handed out with the motto for 2026: ‘Diverse and original, we are Nazareth’. This was followed by a relaxed and fraternal meal.
