On 23-25 September, it was held in Rome the Jubilee of the Catechists from all over the world. On 23 September it was presented in Rome, in four different Churches, a meditation in several languages on the topic “Contemplating the mercy” with the background of Caravaggio’s paint “The Vocation of Matthew”.
On 24, morning, the different delegations made a pilgrimage to the main basilicas of Rome. In the evening, in the Basilica of St Peter, all catechists gathered to listen to some testimonies and pray the Vespers.
Next day it was the great event with the Pope, with the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist. In the homily, the Pope addressed the word to the catechists reminding them that the first announcement is the centre of faith and that there is no content so beautiful, solid and present than that. Brother Enzo Biemmi greeted the Pope on behalf of the Italian catechists. In the brief exchange that Brother had with the Pope, he brought the regards and prayer of the Brothers of the Holy Family.
