On 11 October 2021, the inauguration and blessing of the Brothers’ Community Residence – Holy Family Bhavan took place in Kurdeg (Jharkhand). The Community house is on the same campus of Holy Family School, but several meters away from the school building.

The ceremony started from the main entrance of the School campus with a procession and dance to the entrance of the Community House. The procession was made up of the senior students of the School (4th grade) and the Educational Community, accompanying the main celebrant, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Simdega, Fr. Ignatius Tete.

Once at the entrance of the House, the water was blessed and the inauguration-blessing rite began. After the traditional cutting of the entrance ribbon and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by the Brother Delegate, the new building was sprinkled with holy water (the two floors of the building). Then we continued with the solemn celebration of the Eucharist, presided by Fr. Ignatius Tete and 16 other priests. Brothers from different communities in India attended the ceremony, as well as several religious men and women from the diocese and also from Ranchi, and some local authorities. The Brothers of the Community together with the teachers and staff of Holy Family School and the students of the 4th grade were in charge of singing in the choir and of enlivening the liturgy.

At the end of the Eucharist, a short cultural programme took place to pay tribute to the main personalities who were present at the event. Afterwards, there was a fraternal agape and a “mutton bryani” with salad, sweets and a small cup of ice cream, to combat the hot day.
