With the motto “Mari dan lihatlah” (Jn 1:47a) (Come and see) the First Profession of twenty-one novices, seventeen Indonesians and four Timorese was celebrated in Nita on the afternoon of July 6.
A group of boys and girls from the parish station of Nata Wulu opened the entrance procession with their dances. Afther the novices, that were to profess, were Br. Aurelio Arreba, Delegate of Indonesia and Timor-Leste; the local Superior; the concelebrating priests and the main celebrant Fr. Telesforus Jenti O.Carm, Vicar General of the diocese. Brother Aurelio received the vows as Delegate of Brother Superior General. The choir was made up of residents of the town of Nata Wulu.
At the end of the religious ceremony, the usual speeches were given by the Brother Delegate, the local Superior, a representative of the families and one of the newly professed. While supper was shared with some seven hundred guests, a program of musical performances by our formees and various groups of catechetical children took place on the outdoor stage. The party ended with a series of traditional dances.
