History:
   * At the end of 1963 the first Brothers from Uruguay came to Marau (State of Rio Grande do Sul). In this city, in March of 1964, they opened the school "Gabriel Taborin." Later they moved to nearby Vila Maria.
   * Another community began in Itapiranga (State of Santa Catarina) in 1966, and in 1967 the Province of Spain sent some brothers to Brazil. In 1969 the first Brazilian brothers made their profession.
   * In 1975 the Brazil sector became a Vice-Province with the name "Nossa Senhora Aparecida." Two years later the novitiate was opened in Passo Fundo (Rio Grande do Sul), which would also become the headquarters of the Vice-Province.
* More recently there have been foundations in Ibema (Paraná) and in Mato Grosso, first in Campinápolis and then in Agua Boa.

The Present:
The Brothers try to live the spirit of the family and Nazarene spirituality, incarnating it within the reality of the Brazilian people. In harmony with the local Church they attempt to give a response to the challenge presented by the difficult situation of the people in present-day circumstances. The communities are inserted in very different realities and at great distance one from the other, which makes communication difficult.

In line with the plan of life of the Institute, the orientations that can give vitality to our charism are:
   * Living our religious identity beginning with the experience of sharing the Word of God and community life.
   * Being prophets of hope by means of a life of simplicity and evangelical poverty that leads to solidarity with the poor and the struggle for justice.
   * Priority of attention to the pastoral ministry of vocations and to formation in all its stages.
   * Sharing our spirituality with the laity. Offering the witness of welcoming and open communities that create fraternity around them.
   * Inculturate the Gospel, taking into account especially young people and the poor, and following the directions of the Church.
